Grown at 1800 - 2200 meters up in the Kigezi mountains, in the rural areas around Nyakshenyi, this well-rounded natural coffee comes from our partner farmers in and around the village.

We first stumbled upon this region when looking for an alternate route to Kampala, due to significant road washouts - which generally complement the rainy season in up-country Uganda.  We established a satellite station with one of our partner farmers, enabling us to source great coffee directly from the community.  Our satellite station is  equipped to handle the initial steps in our quality control process.  The coffee is received, graded, floated and placed on raised beds where it is handpicked and turned for the first 2 - 3 days before it is transported to Kingha Estate.

Once the coffee reaches Kingha Estate it is transferred to our drying beds where it continues to be dried and turned for a further 20 - 25 days.  When the coffee has reached the proper moisture levels it is  it is then hulled, graded and placed in Grain-Pro bag to ensure the coffee maintains its quality.

This photos is of one of our farmer groups sorting out their coffee before delivering it to our satellite station.
