55 local area farmers intercrop g-nuts and beans with our coffee. The farmers are freely granted plots of land on our coffee estate where they can grow cash crops to help generate extra income for their families. The crops they grow do not interfere with the coffee, instead the farmer’s crops add valuable nitrates to the soil, naturally replenishing what the coffee depletes. The farmers get free crops, the soil gets nitrates and the coffee gets a natural boost; it’s a win win situation for everyone.
The photos above show this season’s g-nut (peanut) harvest and some of the hard working farmers who make is possible. Kingha Coffee is very proud of its relationship with the local community and of the community service programs we create and engage in.
